[telemetry] endpoint carried one OTLP signal while its name implied it
covered every signal. That asymmetry is what let the metrics URL be
guessed later by rewriting this one's path suffix, so anything not
ending /v1/traces silently posted metrics to the traces path.
Renames the key to traces_endpoint and Setup::exporterEndpoint to
tracesEndpoint. The default value is unchanged and the URL is still used
verbatim, with no path derived from it. The startup log line and the
compose-file example name the new key, the latter being where an
operator copies it from.
No metrics_endpoint is added here: this branch has no metrics pipeline,
so the key would parse into a member nothing reads.
getInstance(), getTracer(), both startSpan() overloads and networkTypeFromId()
return values that a caller must use. A discarded startSpan() result destroys
the returned span immediately, so the span opens and closes with no content.
Six methods in Telemetry.h already carried the attribute, on the base and on
every override. The new attributes follow that: the overrides in Telemetry.cpp
and NullTelemetry.cpp get it too, because [[nodiscard]] is not inherited and a
call bound to the derived type would otherwise be unchecked.
No caller anywhere in the chain discards any of these results.
Brings coroutine-aware OTel context storage forward: CoroAwareContextStorage,
its install in Telemetry, ScopedSpanGuard same-store assertion, and the
non-owning ScopedActivation helper.

Install CoroAwareContextStorage as the process-wide OTel runtime context
storage in TelemetryImpl::start(), before SetTracerProvider and before any
span is created, so the ambient context follows JobQueue coroutines across
yield/resume. Hold it in a member for the process lifetime; not reset in
stop() because resetting while spans may exist is SDK undefined behaviour.

Add a custom OTel IdGenerator that returns a thread-local pending trace_id on
the SDK no-parent (root) branch and a random one otherwise, plus a PendingTraceId
RAII guard that pins that id for the next forced-root span and asserts on
destruction that it was consumed. Wire the generator into
TracerProviderFactory::Create via its 4-arg overload.
This lets hash-derived spans become true trace roots so they line up into one
trace across nodes. It is installed but dormant on this branch: the caller
(hashSpan) arrives on a later branch (phase-3). GenerateSpanId is always random
and is_random_ is false so the W3C random-trace-id flag is not set on
deterministic ids.

Bring the 5 telemetry files introduced on this branch to the enforced
house Doxygen style (/** alone, ' * ' continuation prefix, no single-line
blocks) so the check-doxygen-style hook passes under CI's --all-files run.
Comment-only: code is byte-identical after comment stripping (verified).
Also regenerate levelization results: the committed ordering.txt carried
stale 'xrpl.telemetry > xrpld.consensus/rpc' edges that the current include
graph no longer produces.

Add missing <cstdint> include for std::uint32_t in Telemetry.h.
Add braces around single-line if bodies in Telemetry.cpp.

CI enabled more clang-tidy checks via the upstream merge:
- DiscardScope discardScope -> const (misc-const-correctness)
- drop the (::max)() Windows macro-guard parens; NOMINMAX is defined
project-wide so the bare form is correct (readability-redundant-parentheses)

Move Telemetry.h (associated header) to first include position in
Telemetry.cpp per the project's include-order convention. Trim
trailing whitespace from POC_taskList.md markdown table columns.

Centralise scattered string literals into compile-time constants using
StaticStr<N> and join() for dot-separated composition. Shared primitives
live in SpanNames.h; RPC-specific names in RpcSpanNames.h. Future modules
(consensus, peer, ledger) add their own *SpanNames.h without bloating
the central header.

Redesign SpanGuard with pimpl idiom to hide all OpenTelemetry types
from public headers. Add global Telemetry accessor so SpanGuard factory
methods work without explicit Telemetry references. Add child/linked
span creation and cross-thread context propagation. Update plan docs
to reflect macro removal in favor of SpanGuard factory pattern.

Add span discard mechanism that drops unwanted spans before they enter
the batch export queue, saving both network bandwidth and storage.
FilteringSpanProcessor is a custom SpanProcessor decorator that wraps
BatchSpanProcessor. SpanGuard::discard() sets a thread-local flag
(tl_discardCurrentSpan) before calling Span::End(). The OTel SDK calls
OnEnd() synchronously on the same thread, where the flag is checked and
cleared to drop the span.
New file: DiscardFlag.h — zero-dependency header for the thread-local
flag, avoiding transitive include bloat from Telemetry.h.
