Every metric and span in the expected inventory must be present.
Making metrics optional defeats the purpose of the validation pipeline,
which exists to prove the full telemetry surface works end-to-end.
If ios_latency doesn't fire, the workload generators need to produce
enough load to trigger it (I/O thread latency >= 10ms threshold).
